announcing air action telework at chevron salt lake refinery

1 min read

May 17, 2021 – Salt Lake Refinery is proud to announce the launch of its Air Action Telework initiative, to encourage telework and reduce commute-related emissions along the Wasatch Front.

How it works: The Utah Division of Air Quality (DAQ) forecasts air quality levels for various counties in the state on a “Mandatory Action,” “Voluntary Action,” or “Unrestricted Action” basis, depending on PM2.5 and ozone levels.

A “Mandatory Action” day is called when local air quality is likely to exceed federal health standards for ozone or PM2.5. On those days, the Refinery encourages employees who are effectively able to work remotely to do so, and to minimize driving on that day.

The new initiative is in line with the State of Utah’s recommendations to improve air quality and is just one of the ways Chevron’s Salt Lake Refinery is working to support cleaner air in the community.
