feature chevron salt lake refinery sponsors 2021 UCAIR summit

May 12, 2021–The Utah Clean Air Partnership, known as UCAIR, hosted their sixth annual summit in May to recognize the work and achievements of Utahns dedicated to improving air quality. The Chevron Salt Lake Refinery was the presenting sponsor of this year’s summit and has partnered with UCAIR since its founding because it recognizes the value of connecting citizens, government, businesses, and nonprofits to work toward practical air quality solutions.

Air quality continues to be one of the biggest challenges facing the state, but Utah’s collaborative and solutions-focused approach has enabled progress. The state’s leadership on lower-sulfur, Tier 3 gasoline is just one example, and Chevron is proud of our Tier 3 commitment to Utah drivers. As a refinery, Chevron has also worked hard to reduce our own carbon footprint by reducing our emissions by 90% since 1990 and introducing Air Action telework days.

Refinery Manager Bryon Stock spoke at the summit and presented the 2021 UCAIR awards. Chevron Refinery was honored to receive the UCAIR Business Partner of the Year award in 2018. This year, Bryce Bird was awarded Person of the Year, Rocky Mountain Power was awarded Company of the Year, and Wasatch Front Regional Council was named Partner of the Year. Congratulations to this year’s recipients!
